Tracks We Share
FORM
Tracks We Share is a landmark exhibition celebrating the Aboriginal artists and art centres of the Pilbara, a vast and ancient region in Australia’s North West. As lead designer, I was responsible for shaping the creative direction across the full spectrum of design outputs, from the brand identity and digital presence to the physical exhibition environment and print campaign. One of the biggest challenges was doing justice to the scale, diversity, and deep cultural significance of the artworks while ensuring the design language remained respectful, cohesive, and functional across many mediums. The sheer breadth of content, from more than 70 artists and over 200 works, meant the visual system needed to be strong enough to unify yet flexible enough to adapt. This was approached by building an identity that took inspiration from Pilbara landscapes and artistic traditions while ensuring the artwork always remained the hero, creating a design framework that supported rather than overshadowed. Another challenge was coordinating consistency across multiple gallery spaces and touchpoints. By developing comprehensive brand guidelines and a scalable visual system, I ensured visitors experienced the exhibition as one connected narrative, whether encountering signage, publications, social content, or the website. The final experience brought together contemporary energy and cultural reverence, giving audiences a wide-reaching insight into the region’s artistic output while presenting it with clarity, respect, and visual impact.
