Nook

Self-Initiated Project

Nook began as a self-initiated project designed to push my UX and UI capabilities beyond surface-level design. I wanted to create something that functioned as more than a visual exercise, something that treated the user experience as the foundation rather than an afterthought. The biggest challenge was moving away from instinctive aesthetics and instead grounding every decision in real user needs. Early on, it became clear that without a structured process, the product risked becoming a polished interface with no meaningful purpose. I applied a full UX framework, starting with research and analysis to understand the problems Nook could genuinely address. That thinking shaped everything that followed, from information architecture and user flows to wireframes and high-fidelity prototypes. Another hurdle was ensuring consistency between the conceptual brand and the functional product experience; the solution was to build the visual identity around the core idea of “finding your own corner,” ensuring that clarity, calm, and focus guided the UI. Nook ultimately became a pivotal project in reshaping how I approach digital design, demonstrating how curiosity, structure, and problem-solving can transform an idea into a purposeful user-centred experience.
